For the next year he lived in Morocco serving as a Peace Corp volunteer. He worked in a large animal practice in a small town on the edge of the Sahara Desert.

Dr. Fanning was born and raised in Ohio. She attended the University of Findlay and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She then went on to complete a one year internship in small animal medicine, emergency and surgery at one of the largest animal hospitals in south Florida. Dr. Fanning was asked to stay on as associate veterinarian and intern mentor at this large 20 doctor practice, where she worked the next 5 years.

While in Florida Dr. Fanning attended the Chi Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She was trained in veterinary acupuncture and studied food therapy. This extensive training allows her to practice Integrative medicine, which is the combination of western medicine (which we are accustomed to here in the US) and Chinese medicine. This allows Dr. Fanning to select a therapeutic plan that is best for each individual patient.

In 2010, Dr. Fanning tried moving closer to home by relocating to Charlotte, NC. She worked at Charlotte's largest 24 hour emergency and general practice animal hospital for 2 years. Despite her enjoyment of the southern climate, family brought her back to Ohio in 2012. She is happily living in the Toledo area and proud to be at High Point Animal Hospital.
