MOLLY S. BOPP, DVM
Practice Owner
Molly Bopp, DVM has been practicing veterinary medicine at High Point Animal Hospital since her graduation from The Ohio State University in 1987. At that time, High Point had one doctor and one assistant helping during the office hours while the other veterinarian went out on large animal calls. Dr. Bopp's interest in veterinary medicine started at a young age and was solidified by spending her high school years training and showing horses. This experience combined with caring for her many pets provided a practical basis for further studies. Dr. Bopp feels that her patience and ability to read an animal's body language combine to help her make all of her patients comfortable in the exam room.
Orthopedics and surgery have always been special interests of Dr. Bopp and she keeps current on recent advances and information through many avenues of continuing education. Dr. Bopp has recently been focused on animal physical rehabilitation. This will enable her to be able to offer better recovery and function for animals after orthopedic surgeries, trauma, as well as our geriatric patients.
Dr. Bopp splits her time between the practice and caring for her family. Her animal charges include a cat and two dogs. The cat, Shadow, is happiest when he is in his favorite place riding on the children's shoulders anywhere they go. Bubba is the family's elderly dog. The first question when anyone sees him is "What kind of dog is that?" Bubba has a Rottweiler head with unclipped Pit Bull ears, a Lab body, an Akita coat and a Chow tail. Who knows? The newest addition to the family is a Golden Retriever named Quinn. Her husband Brian and her two sons complete Dr. Bopp's family. The Bopp family spends it's free time supporting St. John's lacrosse, playing soccer and piano and practicing agility with Quinn.

LAURA ZITZELBERGER, RECEPTIONIST/ASSISTANT
Laura Ponceby-Zitzelberger has worked as an assistant/receptionist at High Point Animal Hospital for over 6 years. She started out as a client and, in her words, "I liked the clinic so much, I wanted to work here." Laura started out working almost full time at the Maumee office then became a regular at the Whitehouse location. More recently she works occasionally, filling in for people when they need her. Her primary job now is working at Nature's Nursery, a wildlife rehabilitation center. Laura's position there is Operations/Volunteer Coordinator. (A fancy term that means do everything from scoop poop to conducting educational programs for the public.) Many of the staff at High Point like working with Laura, not because of her charming and pleasant manner (although she's sure that has a lot to do with it), but because they are always interested to see what kind of baby animals she might have with her. She has been known to be foster mom to everything from bats to birds and squirrels to skunks!
On the home front, Laura lives in Waterville with her husband, Tom, and her eight cats and a parrot. Picking names for that many cats can be challenging. They decided to go through the alphabet. They started with Aspen and are currently up to Lydia. Laura will admit that Ishkabibble is probably the most unique name they've settled on.
Laura enjoys both the staff and the clients at High Point and says she loves to be around people who care so much about animals. |
