 The practice was founded in 1985 by Dr. Thomas Mowery. In the beginning, Dr. Mowery provided care to all types of animals including large animals such as horses and cattle. It was about 10 yrs ago when we began to do small animals exclusively. Our clinic now provides quality care and compassion to many canine and feline breeds as well as the "little guys" such as ferrets and rabbits. Today, High Point Animal Hospital offers medical care from five doctors and a large staff of veterinary technicians, assistants and receptionists to help you with all of your pets' needs.
At High Point Animal Hospital we try to provide the best care available to our patients in an organized and efficient manner. Delivering state of the art care with the compassion and willingness to go above and beyond the ordinary animal hospital, are what have made this hospital prosper. As we continue to grow, retaining these qualities is our promise to you and your pets.
At High Point Animal Hospital we strive to provide the best medical care your pets can receive. Our doctors take many continuing education courses so that they may provide you and your pets with the latest medical advances and techniques. Our doctors and staff always try to go the extra mile to make our clients and patients feel as comfortable as possible while they are in our hospital or under our care as patients.
Community Involvement:
Our doctors are regular participants in "Career Day" at local area schools. A doctor from High Point will visit a class describing their career as a veterinarian. They also provide information to the students as well as interesting visual aids such as photos or x-rays. High Point Animal Hospital also regularly allows students to "Shadow" our doctors for class projects or to help them to decide if the field of veterinary medicine is right for them.

We Moved
 |
 After years of planning, attending veterinary practice design conferences, and visiting other veterinary practices for ideas, we broke ground on the new Maumee practice in October of 2004. We moved into the new office in June 2005. Everyone on the High Point team is excited to work in such a clean, convenient new facility. Every detail has been considered from floors that are easy to clean and have better traction for our older patients, to a three-zone ventilation system with separate airflow so there are never any odors and aerosol transmission of infectious agents is kept to a minimum.

The waiting area is much larger so our patients can separate if needed and have less stress. You and your pet can even wait outdoors on the deck overlooking Swan Creek.

We now have six exam rooms, so traffic flow is much improved and you will be seen in a timely manner. The rooms each have a computer so we can access pictures, make an appointment, and check you out without you leaving your seat. No more holding the dog, trying to write a check and hold on to the kids at the same time!

We are most excited about our new treatment area. Instead of having our hospitalized and surgery patients in a kennel in the back of the office, they are right in the room where continuous monitoring is effortless. Additional prep tables and a separate dental suite make the work flow smooth.

Our special procedures room gives us a quiet place to perform ultrasound and endoscopy. The lighting can be controlled for the best results.

 The new surgery suite features a pack prep room for instrument storage and maintenance. This is also the area where the doctors scrub in for surgery. The operating room itself has positive flow ventilation to reduce microbes.

Having so much space is quite a luxury. The whole team now has a place to relax and unwind over lunch and in their spare time.
